I haven't written in quite a long time.

These last couple of months I've been teaching kindergarten and slowly getting acclimated to waking up at 7:55am and getting to school by 9:30am. I've actually gotten quite used to that part of things. I'm exhausted by the end of the day, but the teaching part of things really isn't that bad. I dread the weeks that I have phone teaching. That takes at least an extra couple of hours, spread out over the course of the week. It's not that hard, but when you get to the 20th kid or so and still have 10 more to go of the same basic conversation over and over again, it gets a little old. This is by the way, after teaching a full day already. When it comes to renegotiating, all of the little extras that kinder teachers are expected to do with no extra pay will definitely come up. I'm considering a 3rd contract but am really on the fence for various reasons.

It's a lazy Sunday here in the apartment. Nate took off for the weekend and I've been enjoying having a whole lot of peace and quiet, at least my idea of it. He's fine, but there are times when I would like to be alone. It's not quite the same as with Clinton. I'm not sure how to explain it, other than to say it's just different. We get along fine, but I don't feel the kind of peace sometimes that I did with Clinton.

Yesterday I went into Seoul after teaching one of my privates. I ran into my old Korean teacher around a month ago and she asked why I hadn't been to class. After trying in vain to explain in Korean (I'm not that high), I told her I just really didn't' t like the new teacher I got after moving up a level. He made me feel dumb in class and it was just way over my head. Anyhow, she told me there was a new teacher and she was better and was using all handouts, instead of the book (a shitty book) that the other teacher was using. Well, I showed up 10 min. late, after my taxi got caught in traffic and the book store I had to go to before hand to longer than I anticipated. I kinda ducked my head in and felt dumb, but soon things were great. Her handouts were very easy to follow. I seemed to be the same level as all the others and I was even able to ask and answer a few questions. I'm looking forward to going again next week. Now all I have to do is attempt to find some time to study. It's kind of like the level below. Things go fast in class and if you don't study outside, it can be pretty easy to not remember things. Seems rudimentary, but a lot of others that go to the classes seem to think they will just absorb and never study.

I decided today to finally get at making a veggie soup with a celery base. Things were going great. I actually found celery at the store too, which is kind of rare. I was adding all the veggies I bought and had. Salt. Pepper. Taste. Celery Salt. Taste. You know how it is. I decided to add just one more onion. In the midst of chopping, I cut quite a gash in my left pointer finger. It's been a while since I last did that. My first thought was "shit, am I gonna have to tell Agnes I sliced myself and need stitches?" Thankfully I don't think it's that bad. I ran it under water and put a towel to it. It seems to be fine now, but I'm sure it'll leave some sort of scar. That soup better be damn good. That's all I have to say about that.
